Hi
DLUs are Device License Units. They are Cisco's software method of forcing you to purchase the licenses that you are legally obligated to buy anyway.
Different numbers of DLUs are consumed per phone type, as each phone type has different feature capabilities. The more feature rich a phone is, the more DLUs it consumes.

Hi
Yeah, don't worry about that - I put that on the bottom of most of my posts just to remind people :-)
Take a look at this post from Rob that lists the DLUs taken per phone:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/345232;jsessionid=F3DFBDB8073DE516BC766FC689232864.node0
If you have a CallManager already (v5 or newer) you can go into CCMAdmin, then to System/Licensing/Licensing Report (or Licence Calculator). This will list all the various phone types and their DLU usage.
