DX 80 issue

Hi ,

We are running on IP Telephony set up with Call manager version 9.1.2 on UCS servers.

We have installed cop file for adding the DX 80 IP Phone 6 months before and installed successfully  the COP file and after that we got the option to add the DX 80 IP Phone series   and was working fine without any failure.

Recently we got the error from the DX 80 "unmapped exception /usr/local/cm/db/xml/xml/dx80_sip_display_instance.xml(No such file directory)"

DX 80 phone is registered but cannot make any outgoing calls and not receiving any incoming calls. The FW version is sip-dx80.10-2-2-23.

I have checked the DB replication is fine.

Please advise.

Regards

Nithin Louis.

Hi Louis,

Just check thie bug if it helps with somewhat similar issue:

DX650 Unregisters after 2 minutes, no dial tone, no in/outbound calls
CSCui54025

Description
Symptom:
DX-650 shows unregistered in Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) every 2 minutes. Resetting the phone causes it to show registered again in CUCM after it goes unregistered. Going off hook on the DX-650 there is no dial tone, the phone will not ring when called, and the phone cannot place calls. All other functions of the phone work fine except for the phone as a phone.

Conditions:
Following the Cisco Desktop Collaboration Experience DX600 Series Administration Guide, Release 10.0(1) causes this to happen. This problem happens when the Timer Register Delta is greater than the value of the SIP Station KeepAlive Interval, Cisco Call Manager service parameter. The default SIP Station KeepAlive Timer is 120 seconds by default.

Workaround:
Change the SIP profile timer for "Timer Register Delta" back to the default of 5. After saving the change, reset the phone by powering it off and back one so the phone downloads its TFTP configuration file with the new timer value.

Hi Aman,

Thanks for your reply.

I will try the updates and will let you know soon.

Hi Nithin,

Although you mention that the DX80 did register and function well for some time, the error points to a condition where the device pack was not installed on all servers followed by cluster reboot. Can you check the "show version active" output on all servers to see if hey have the required device pack installed and also see the uptime of the services in Cisco unified serviceability to make sure that all servers were rebooted after device pack install.

Manish
