Enable ring on headset rather then on IP Phone

HI,

I've CCM 5.1.3 with 7940 IP Phones. Telephony users are using Plantronics headsets. Users want to disable ringing on IP Phone during incoming calls and ring should be played in headsets only.

Any help is highly appreciated.

You can set the ring setting on line to Flash only. Some headsets support a beep tone each time it rings. It is a headset function and not the phone system's function.

Can I enable the beep sound in IP Phone's handset like you said it is possible on some headsets rather then the beep coming on IP Phone?

Yes.

Change it to Beep only under the respective line.

The BEEP sound option can be configured for new call on already busy line.

I need to enable ring/beep in handset or headset in case of new incoming call on idle line. I don't want the ring coming from IP Phone speaker. I've tried disabling speaker option but no good.
