We are having an issue with forwarding any desk phone to an external number, ie a mobile.
If we dial the internal extension from another desk, the call works great, but if we dial the DDI of the extension from an outside number, the call is diverted, rings and connects but there is no voice traffic.
We are using ASA with CME and 6945 handsets.

How are you connected to the outside? Through a SIP trunk from CME to the ITSP? Can you dial from the inside to the outside successfully? Have you enabled SIP inspection on your ASA?

Hi
Yes we are using SIP and internal to external works fine, only issues are when we have the forwarding enabled, and as said its only external incoming calls being forwarded to another external number that is an issue. SIP inspection is enabled.

Can you attach the output of debug ccsip messages and your running configuration? Also, when the call transfer is established, do you see packets increasing at show voip rtp connections detail for the corresponding call? Finally, what is the output of show call active voice brief?
