Failed to delete unified communication manager user association

Hi 

Earlier user was configured in AVAYA CM and VM account configured in Cisco Unity Connection.

Now user has stopped using avaya softphone and started using Jabber. End user is configured in CUCM and user wants to create VM account for new jabber number. While deleting old VM account its giving below error.

Do I need to delete or disassociate end user created in CUCM to delete and recreate VM account in unity.

If it is the same user account, with a new number, why do you not just change the extension on the VM account instead of trying to remove it and then create it again?

Actually I have one more case as well, where jabber profile created for new user and when I tried to create VM in unity with same extension , found another VM account with different name.  I tried to delete that but getting same error.

You cannot have multiple user in Unity that has the same extension. If you cannot remove the users, for what ever reason, a work around might be to change the extension on the user that should not have it any longer.

Hi,

Try to set to "none" the "primary extension" field on the CUCM user that you want to delete from UCNx. Than sync the users on UCNx and than you can delete it.

Hi,

In UCNx admin page, on the right menu, go to "Users" -->  "Sync Users"

On "Find Imported Users In" select "Phone System" and clik "Find"

Select all found users and click "Sync Selected"

Have you defined any AXL servers?

The user used needs AXL rights in CM and should be an application user.
