Hi All,
We are running CUCM 7.x in a two node cluster. Both nodes run the key EM and Directories services but the phones are all directed to one node. If we lose this node we maintain call processing but have a loss of the services.
Is there a way to ensure service failover in order that we maintain EM and directories in the event of the loss of a node?
Jason

Thanks Chris, useful doc. Shame there is now in built functionality within CUCM to handle this. Do you know if anything has changed in version 8.x?

Hi Jason,
Same thing appleis to 8.X, basically requires for you to use a SLB or DNS, and for the actual EM Service URL, you can also use multiple EM URLs that point to different servers running the EMApp service to train your users to use one or the other if one doesn't work. This won't solve the IP Phone services button redundancy issue, but could solve the issue if the subscriber that is running the EMApp service goes down that the EM Services URL is pointing to. Here's a link to the EM HA section of the 8.X SRND: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/srnd/8x/cmapps.html#wp1189079
