We are running Call manager 4.1(3) and have done a firmware upgrade on all of our phones.... a mix of 7960's and 7970's.
Since this upgrade, the voice quality for headset users has decreased considerably and the caller on the other end now sounds tinny and echoes! The other end can hear fine though.
What could be causinig this? Has anyone else experiennced this and how would we resolve without rolling back to the earlier firmware version?
Any help is appreciated...

This was an issue in 8.4.1 to 8.4.3 or so. The sidetone was increased and it messed up the echo canceler on the headsets.
This change has been reverted, and you can check this bug for details and the fixed versions: CSCsu61412

Hey Kid,
Hope all is well! There have been some changes in the later Firmware versions that may have this effect. Can you please let us know what exact Firmware and Headset Models you are using?
Cheers!

Hi Rob,
Long time... I must be getting the hang of this IPT stuff!!! : )
The Firmware we are using is SCCP70.8-4-1 SR2S
App Load ID jar70sccp.8-4-1ES10.sbn
Boot Load ID 7970_020706.bin
Version SCCP70.8-4-1SR2S
The headsets are quite varied to be honest. They are mainly Plantronics ones but different models.
Do you need anything else?

Hey Nick,
Thanks for posting back with this update and Bug reference. +5 points for this!
I wasn't looking forward to changing the settings on all of the Plantronics CS - series headsets we have here (just added another 25 over the last two days). So this is great news :)
Cheers!
Rob
