GK is strictly H323 and does not work with MGCP, what are you trying to do?

we have 3 site, and we want to make multisite distributed deployment so we think that we can use Gatekeepre instead of making full mesh connection. we use MGCP gateway and CUCM6.0

the answer has been provided in the very 1st reply:
GK is strictly H323
NOT MGCP
the only option is if you plan to change all GWs from MGCP to H323
HTH
java

Are all of your sites on single CM cluster? If so H323 would not give you anything, GK would only be useful in multiple cluster environment in your case.
Please explain what you are trying to accomplish and we'll let you know the best way to do it.

If you have distributed call processing (3 CUCM clusters) - yes.
Chris asked for this and never got an answer..
If you really have 3 clusters you can...
- configure a zone for each cluster
- configure zone prefixes for each cluster
- configure gk controlled ICT trunk (with Q.SIG tunneling for features)
The MGCP gateways have nothing to do with that - it's a H323 thing.
Anyway - with the proper IOS you can configure the gatekeeper stuff on this boxes.
Hope that helps,
Martin
