Hi,
I do know that PVDM2-16 (1 DSP) supports 2 conference-sessions at G.729a , i.e. 2 conferences with 8 participants.
Is the same DSP also able to support 4 conferences with 4 participants ?
Thanks

No exactly 4, but 8 conferences with 8 participants each one,if using only G711, check this link:
Basically it will depend on codec complexity and MIPS-

Hi Gerhard,
Unfortunately this is not supported. With the PVDM2-16 using g729a there is only support for 2 sessions (conferences) Have a look;
Conferencing needs dedicated DSP resources. A DSP will support eight conference calls on a G.711 codec, or two conference calls on a G.729/G.711 configuration. (The PVDM2-16 will support eight conference calls on G.711 or 2 conference calls on G.729/G.711.) There is a maximium of eight participants per conference.
From this doc;
A conference based on these DSPs allows a maximum of 8 participants. When a conference begins, all 8 positions are reserved at that time.If you configure all conferencing for both G.711 and G.729 codecs, then each DSP provides only 2 conferences of 8 participants each.
From this doc;
Number of Conferences Per DSP (PVDM2-16) G.729a - 2 conferences X 8 conferees

Hope this helps!
