Hi,

I have been testing a fxs port within cisco 2600..The signal is gound start.

Since I have rebooting C2600, but a phone not received a dialtone.

But I have changed signal for loop start and I have rebooting C2600...As a result, a phone received a dialtone.

Please tell me what the reason.

The reason is that telephones only use Loop Start, but never Ground Start.

Paolo,

Your quite correct regarding the use of Loop Start for POTS phones, my thoughts as to why the reload stopped the calls working were that the port had been reconfigured as ground start, but the port had not been shut and unshut after the config change. This may have masked the impending issue and caused the perceived failure after reload.
