Hi
I have tried to reset the 7911 and 7970 phones by pressing and holdoing down the # key after I have powered it on but the LCD becomes blank, it doesn't show the message to press the 123456789*0# to reset. when it comes up too, it will only be showing the home page without responding to any key not even the menu key.
Kindly provide assistance.

Hi,
I normally hold down the # key as it powers up and keep holding it until all the lights flash. I find once I release the # the line keys lights will cycle through one at a time then I perform the keypad sequence to factory reset.
Also make sure that you do the reset on a network that has DHCP and the TFTP option set.

if it did not work, please proceed with the following:
connect the phone on a switch port (e.g fastethenet 0/1)
connect a PC on which wireshark is installed to another switch port (e.g fastethenet 0/2)
on the switch configuration level issue the following:
session monitor 1 source interface fastethernet 0/1
session monitor 1 destination interface fastethernet 0/1
start sniffer, then unplug and plug the phone wait for 2-3 min then save the sniffer and sent it please.
