Hello,
I have a cisco Call manager express 2821. Show Telephony-service command shows it as version 4.1(0).
I have a cisco 7975 Phone which is running SCCP 8.3.2 version, recently i have tried to attache a operator console 7916-12 to it, but Phone wont recognise it, a google search confirmed that it needs to be updated to SCCP version 8.3.5.
I have logged into download and saw three options. One is .sbn Second is .exe and Third is .zip.
I need some body to explain me how do i diffrentiate between call manager and call manager express. both seem to be having version 4.x and 7.x ?
What is Cisco Unified Call Manager ( is this call manager based on windows or Linux platforms)?
How do i differntiate between call manager and call manager express with version numbers?
Your help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Use zip, extract and copy to router, configure load with .load extension, configure cnf-location flash: that's it.
Cisco recommend 8.4(4), I run 8.4.4.

Found a great doc on the confusion may be it will be helpfull to other here.
https://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/requirements/guide/33matrix.htm
btw i was able to upgrade the firmware, cnf file location command was the one which i was missing probably, also the extension .load after the file name in telephony service. Phone registered with new firmware.
Now the task is to get this 7915-12 console running.
will update you in few hours..

Hello,
This module is giving me hard time.
I have upgraded phone(7975) to version 8.4, and i have issues the load (B016-1-0-2SR1.SBN) for 7916-12.
But i still see the module in stable amber color.
In telephony service i have below.
load 7916-12 B016-1-0-2SR1.SBN
load 7975 SCCP75.8-4-4S
But still the module wont registers, it shows in Phone > status = not configured
the tftp output wont show anything except 7975 registration.
" ul 13 15:36:22.695: %IPPHONE-6-REG_ALARM: 22: Name=SEP64168D511CCF Load= SCCP75

Jul 13 15:36:22.731: %IPPHONE-6-REGISTER: ephone-2:SEP64168D511CCF IP:192.168.0.
2 Socket:2 DeviceType:Phone has registered."
I dont see even attempts of loading B016-1-0-2SR1.SBN, eventhough the command is there in telephony service with file in flash.
Any ideas ....
