Hi, I have a 9971 on a CME 8.6 and I was wondering what is an easy way to add contacts to the phone, local directory or on the CME or an external server. My contacts button doesn't show anything, it's just blank.

hi, i have finally made the contacts button work. now it has local directory, local speed dial and another line in there i just can't remember. however, i can't find a way to add contacts either from the phone or from the router except for local speed dial. is there a way to add contacts to this local directory?

Go to telephony-service in cme and make entry like below..
directory entry 1 PHONE_NUMBER name XYZ
directory entry 2 PHONE_NUMBER1 name XYZ1

thanks, that is correct. the problem i had was that i used the wrong ip address under http://x.x.x.x/localdirectory which should have been my loopback address as i had tftp sourced using loopback. changed to the correct ip address and now i can search for all the contact entries under local directory. thanks

Hi,
Battling to get my 9971 to register to my 2811 CME. I had it registered and working but a power failure put a stop to it. I have tried everything I can think of and it just won't register.
Debugs show the phone registering and deregistering every minute or so. CME seems to tell the phone to de-register due to privacy update.
Rlaudiano - Please can you post your router configure so that I can see where I might be going wrong. I also plan on setting up contacts so your config would be a really good resource.
Thanks.
