Identifying Call Routing Behavior problem

Hi,

I have a Cisco UC-560 connected to 3 SG-300 switches, and around 25 SPA-300 phones distributed fairly evenly between these switches.

I have a strange problem that I need help to understand.

User's are reporting the following issue:-

  • When dialling outside  calls or trying to transfer calls to the workshop mobiles we are  constantly told they are unknown numbers and it takes an average of 5  attempts to get a connection.
  • When calling extension 317 downstairs the phone only rings 3 times then cuts off.

I'm looking through the configuration but I cannot see any reason for this to occur. I'm looking for some advice as to where I can troubleshoot such an issue?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Martin

Hi Martin,

You can look at the SDI traces to see how the call processing is occurring.  When looking through the traces, use a time stamp and know the calling and called DN's.  Be sure your network has the bandwidth for all the calls and make sure the proper QoS is configured so the packets don't get dropped.  Look on the DN 317 to address the disconnect problem.

Thanks,

Anthony
