Hi,

Are you referring to DTMF relay? In this case go through this URL.

inbound and outbound generally refers the direction of a call whether it is a sip or pots , if you want to understand think yourself as a router , anything coming to you is considered as inbound any call going from you is considered as outbound.

i hope you understand

Hi Mohammed ,

Yes you are correct I'm referring the DTMF relay ,please can you elaborate more about the difference between the In-band and out of band concept ?

Thanks ,

Vinod.

Inband carries DTMF traffic part of the media stream. Now depending on the type of inband (RTP-NTE or Inband Voice), the Payload Type (PT) value in RTP header will change.

Outband carries DTMF signaling using the call signaling protocol (SIP, H323, MGCP) which is separate from media stream.

This is at concept level. Now you can dive deeper in each protocol. I shared the URL for SIP. Here are other URLs for other protocols.
