I added a "9" to this field in my CUCM Publisher and this has propagated to the cluster. But when I call my desk phone from my cell phone (a national number) and divert - the missed call entry still lacks a "9". So..I rebooted my phone and tried calling it again from my cell. But still "missed calls" have only my 10 digit calling phone number of my cell. The gateway is a SIP connection. Is there anything else I need to do to have the "9" automagically inserted to entries in the missed and received calls?

This parameter defines the number, up to 8 digits, that is prefixed to an incoming national number in the signaling to the following terminating devices: on the phone and in the Missed Calls and Received Calls directories; to CTI, TAPI, and JTAPI applications; to voicemail ports. The service parameter, Incoming Calling Party Number Prefix - Apply To controls which devices receive the prefix specified in this parameter. Be sure to examine the value in the service parameter, Incoming Calling Party Number Prefix - Apply To, to be certain that the prefix is being sent to the appropriate terminating devices. Using this parameter provides a means to help you identify national numbers, if necessary. This parameter allows you to prefix specified digits to the calling number of an inbound call on the basis of the Type of Number field in an inbound offered call that gets terminated at an IP Phone. For example, a national call in USA from 4085551212 could get prefixed with 91. Additionally, the CDR calling party number field will not contain the prefix unless the service parameter Add Incoming Number Prefix to CDR is set to True. Several additional service parameters provide prefix functionality on the incoming gateway side for for MGCP, H.323, and SIP. See the protocol-specific sections in the Service Parameter Configuration window for more information. Maximum length: 8 Allowed values: Up to 8 digits (0-9,#,*,+)."Solved! Go to Solution.

it doesn't make the decision based on number length
I dont believe SIP calls carry the TON (type of number) field so there is no way to tell what type the number is.
you could do it with translation pattern on the gateway if you really need it.

I think I have found my own answer. I added the 9 also to field "Incoming Calling Party Unknown Number Prefix - Phone "
and this accomplished the goal. But what I don't understand is why CUCM does recognize a 10 digit inbound as a national
number. Any thoughts on that?

I'll check out the Number Type field. Thanks. I prefer doing the calling party translation here because I don't want
my CDR calling numbers altered.
