Our customer has a Cisco 3845 based CCME environment running 12.4(24)T8,
with a mixture of 7941 and 7931 handsets. On the 7931 handsets, the users have to shout
down the handsets for anyone to hear them. How can we increase the GAIN on the handset so
that the phones are more sensitive?
The phones are running jar31sccp.8-4-1-23.sbn.

Ypou cannot change gain/attenuation for a single phone.
You can decrease output attenuation for all calls to the voice port, but that will afftect all phones, not one only.

Thanks Paolo, I suspected as much, how do you do it for all phones?
06-04-2013 05:06 AM
With the commands indicated about under voice-port.
Note the IOS that you are using is very, very old and should be updated.

Hi Paolo,
When you say the IIO os old, is that the IOS? that was just upgraded at the weekend to 12.4(24)T8 which is dated September 2012. This was the highest IOS we could use ith our NM-CUE module.
Or do you mean something else?
Dan.

12.4T version is very old in term of lack of many features.
NM-CUE does not use IOS and does not depend on the IOS version you have on router. You should use 15.1(4)M5 as IOS.
I recommend you give all these config an maintanace task to a reputable consultant, or UC certified Cisco partner.
Thank you for the nice rating and good luck!
