I have a user that just installed IP Communicator 2.12. It starts up okay but if he attempts to answer a call or place a call he gets a MS Visual C++ Runtime Library pop-up R6025 -pure virtual function call. What's this mean and how do I fix it?

CSCsj79733 and

CSCsj92985

Workarounds are availale for these problem.

Check:

Symptom:

IP Communicator 2.1.1.2 would not run and thrown Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

error.

Conditions:

IP Communicator 2.1(1.2)

CallManager 4.x, 5.x

This problem will occur:

* Upgrade to IP Communicator 2.1.1.2 from the previous release (1.x,2.x)

* A user account does not have administrator rights on his PC.

Because some registry information of the non-admin user

( HKeyLocalUser\Software\Cisco Systems\Communicator\ is not cleared

in the above situation.

Workaround:

1. Delete registry keys

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cisco Systems, Inc.\Communicator\

These registry keys will be created when user runs IP Communicator again.

2. Uninstall IP Communicator 2.1.1.2 manually from control panel.

Then Grant administrator rights for user account temporaly.

Install IP Communicator 2.1.1.2 again.

Run IP communicator with the user account.

Remove administrator rights from the user account.

Popup Error window came out by Cisco Emergency Responder

When non admin user runs IP Communicator just after installation.

Conditions:

IP Communicator 2.1.1.2

Windows XP

Workaround:

Run IP Communicator with administrator rights to register

CDP driver to Windows.

Expected behavior:

IP Communicator installer should register CDP driver during

its installation instead registering CDP driver when IP Communicator

starts to run.
