IP Phone Display during a directory Search

When having searched a name in one of the directories, you have to press the "end/stop" key several times to get back to the standard display. The display is not automatically set back to the original setting. Even in case of incoming calls, the directory remains on the display and when you have to transfer the incoming call to someone else, you first have to "tidy up" the display before you can enter the extension of the person to whom you want to connect the call. Otherwise you activate one of the numbers shown in the directory.

Additional information: We have Cisco IP Phones - 7911, 7941, 7942, 7961, 7965, 7975 & using CUCM 6.1

Can the setting be changed so that after a minimum period of time, or when a call comes in, the display (screen) is set back to a condition that allows direct action (like transfer calls, etc...)? ,

The directory remains in focus even when a call comes in and it cannot be customized.  A way to answer the call would be to press the line button (right side button) when the call is ringing and it is flashing.
