IP phone features and IP telephoney hardware usage discription!

Hello everyone!

i would like it if someone can explain to me what the following features of IP Phones:

1)support for multiple telephone lines

2)Dynamic soft keys.

for example the cisco 7970G phone supports 8 dynamic soft keys and 8 lines. what does it mean?

the other thing is what is the functionality of each of the following hardware components in a 3845 ISR in a unified network :

1)VIC2-4FXO

2)VWIC-1MFT-E1

please give me the detail as soon as possible. many thanks in advance.

Hello Sherlock, hope is all well. Let me see if I can help you a bit. Dymanic keys means they are set in a context and they are programable by Sysadmin. The dyn keys are the ones in your IP phone just bellow or at the side of the LCD. As for the lines, I am not sure but I believe you could attach 2 or more (8 in 7970G) different extensions to the phone.

The cards you mentioned look like respectivatelly, a 4 port FXO one and a E1 controller (which might have one o more E1 ports).

Someone can confirm that please?
