Dear expert. I have started my ccna voice, my question may be dumb but pls spare some time to write few lines to help me.
I am confused about the concept of Ip phone firmware
1) Does IP phone always comes with a firmware installed ?
2) IF not, how will IP phone work or talk to dhcp/tftp server ?
3) when do i need to upgrade the firmware of an IP phone ?
Thanks in advance

Dear Java,
I clicked on understanding device loads
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/3_0_9/p1devsup.html#wp1020749
But this page is not opening. Is this page restricted, can you pls check ?

Whenever you see a partner/ in the url that means you need a valid CCO account.
Try like this:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/3_0_9/p1devsup.html#wp1020749
That link is ancient, it's from version 3 and we're on 8 already.
If you're new to this, start reading documentation for at least 6.X
