Is Presence server still free?

I had hearda while back that I could get a CUPS server license for free.  I was like WHA????  Something free?  I never thought about it much until just recently again.  I did a quick search and came across this blog entry:

Just wondering if this is still true.  I don't need it to do much, just show phone presence.  We are running a Lotus Sametime environment and phone presences would be great with the phone control plugin I am utilizing.

Yes, it's called Jabber for Everyone offer and you can order it.

Thank you for letting me know.  I have installed CUPS, but I cannot get Presence to work in Sametime or for Jabber for that matter.  Do you know of a good all in one guide for this?  I've been bouncing around from document to document trying to get this to work.

There is a nice "Ultimate Lab for 9.x" video on youtube that might help. It goes through Presence step by step. What is your Call Manager version? Need to make sure your CUPS and CUCM are compatible with each other. CUPS 9.x is only compatible with 9.x impementations for example.

I am running CUCM 8.6.2 and CUPS 8.6.5.  My Sametime is 8.5.2  I will look at that lab once.  It might give me some insight, even though it's on 9.x
