I am attempting to get SIP registration working on a CUCME router with some SCCP phones already registered. Has anyone been able to get this working?

Yes, this is definitely possible. SIP phones are not configured under "telephony-service" the same way SCCP phones are. Instead you use the "voice register global" config stanza and also enable the "registrar" configuration under voice service voip > sip.
See this link for information on setting up SIP under CME.

I was using X-Lite in the example, but the concept is the same.
So, summary:
SIP: "voice register global"
SCCP: "telephony-service"
Just as an FYI. When the phone boots it looks for its config files in this order:
SEPDEADBEEF0001.cfg.xml
SIPDEADBEEF0001.cfg.xml
So, if you were trying to convert a phone that used to be SCCP, check the flash to make sure the SEP version of the config file is removed.
HTH.

Bill

I've attempted to remove the SEPABBCCDD00111.cfg.xml file from flash. When I enter the command "create profile" under the [voice register global] section I get a message such as:
"can't find SEPABBCCDD00111.cfg.xml" and then I find this same file in flash:.
It seems that the file keeps popping up. Would you know the reason behind this?
