Issue with MeetMe number

Hi,

Im using CUCM 10.5 (migrating soon with a partner). 1 Pub and 1 Sub.

I face issues with my MeetMe numbers.  Let me explain.

I use MeetMe number with no access code or anything. It is a very simple MeetMe.

I open the conference from a Cisco IP Communicator : OK

I join the conference from a Cisco Jabber, or any phone : OK

I can't join from another device. The room is limited to 2 calls.

If I end call from on of the 2 connected devices, I can join from another device. But this is limited to 2 calls.

This is my setup

Maximum Ad Hoc Conference : 8
Maximum MeetMe Conference Unicast : 24

That was working well until end of the year. And now, user report that they cant joini the conference (of course, it blocks after 2 calls connected)

I have not made any change or update. So, this is quiet weird.

As we all use Jabber, and the office is closed (because of Covid) the only way for me to open the MeetMe is using a Cisco IP Communicator. I have restarted the computer, I have reset the CIPC.....same issue.

Note : I have 4 MeetMe numbers opened all the time 24/24 - 7/7 and people join when they need.

Same behavior for the 4 conference number.

As this was working well, and nothing has been changed, i'm lost.

How can i troubleshoot this ?

Thank you.

OK I have logs.

I have activated the detailed logs, reproduced the issue and noted the hours, and now I got files :

AlternateSyslog
CiscoSyslog
calllogs_00000028.txt
SDL001_200_000228.txt
SDL001_100_001203.txt

I have found something interesting in the SDL log.

48 was the maximum MeetMe Conference Unicast before i made changes yesterday.

I suspected that all the conference seats were used by orphan calls.

So, I have reset the CFB and that works !  (restart button was not enough).

I can now join the conference with multiple calls.

Thank you everybody for guiding me to the resolution !

To finish with that, is there any place in Real Time Monitor where I can see active calls in MeetMe conference ?

So when you are calling the meet-me number from a 3rd phone dose it give this error message: "Maximum number of parties exceeded". or it just gives busy tone ?

if busy tone : CUCM Software Conference Bridge supports only G.711 a-law and G.711 u-law and does not understand any other codec such as G.729. External callers cannot be added to the conference if they use a codec other than G.711. In order for calls that originate as G.729 to be connected with phones that use G.711, you need to use a transcoder.

Under Service Parameter Configuration >> Call Manager >> Maximum MeetMe Conference Unicast, what value you set ?

The third phone which you trying, is it on the same DP as who can join the call?

Hi guys,

This is the service parameters

Maximum MeetMe Conference Unicast : 24 and that worked well until now.

When I call from a 3rd phone, I got a busy tone, no message. If I call from external phone, the call is just processing...and waits for timeout, then it ends without any tone.

Jabber phones are all in the same Device Pool, CSS etc.. This is not a new setup. There is no issue with call permissions. I mean, I can end the call with a local Jabber, and then join with my mobile phone, that works. But cant join more than 2 in the conference.

There is no issue with permissions, incoming calls, outgoing calls, everything is fine there. I got the same behavior with external calls, or internal calls, or mix internal/external calls.

If I close All the MeetMe room (4  conferences always at same time) , I can reach 4 calls at same time in the same MeetMe.

But If I open all the 4  MeetMe, I can reach only 2 in the MeetMe.

What is CBF ?

What conference bridge are you using ?

Cisco Call Manager Logs will definitely help when the 3rd person tries to join , but most probably is a transcoder got unregistered in your CUCM.

can you provide us the Callmanager logs for the 3rd person trying to join ?

I have 2 Conference Bridge.

How to know how many sessions they can handle ?

I have only one transcoder "Cisco IOS Enhanced Media Termination Point" which registration status is Unlnown (but I can't tell you if it was registered before the issue started).

How can I get the logs ?

Most probably is unknown what causing the issue , but to be sure lets have the logs

See this document on how to collect the logs for Callmanager :

Logs work as always , good to know that your issue is fixed

As far as i know you can monitor conference bridges but not meet me in specific which is a good monitor anyhow

In RTMT — performance — select server — Cisco SW conference bridge

Thank you. That's enough for me. I can check if CBF are used or not.

I learn some things this week, and fixed my issue.

Thanks again to everybody.
