Lack of DSP resource for trans-coding codecs

Hello,

I have a situation where calls are being dropped intermittently, i would like to know how can i check if there are DSP issues, i.e lack of DSP resources for codecs. Is there any particular debugs i can enable and capture that shows me if calls are dropping because of lack of DSP resources?

You can check the output of "show sccp connections" on the gateway hosting the transcoder to see how many sessions of transcoding are active. If it is near or equal to the max-sessions configured under the dspfarm profile for transcoder then it could be a problem.

Transcoder allocation failure can be checked through detailed callmanager service trace or "debug voice ccapi inout" debugs for a call.

Hi,

You can use the command show voice dsp command which will show you the current engaged DSPs. Also, exiting calls won't drop before of exhausted DSPs. Instead new calls will fail to run audio.
