Legacy Cisco UC500 and New Desk Phones Question

Hello,

I am wondering if someone in the community can assist?

I was passed down a working Cisco UC520 system with a 7975G desk phone.

The system is connected to an online SIP provider, and I am able to make incoming and outgoing calls with the desk phone.

Cisco IOS UC500 Version 12.4(11)XW9 from August 2008

boot: uc500-advipservicesk9-mz.124-11.XW9

Hardware: UC520W-16U-4FX0-K9

Desk Phone: 7975G PoE

Modes of administration: Telnet, SSH, Cisco Configuration Assistant

Separately, I also acquired the following hand sets:

- Cisco CP-8865 Desk Phone

- Cisco CP-8831-DCU-S Conference Room speakerphone

Question:

Would my UC520 system support the 8865 and 8831 devices? Or is it too old?

I attempted plugging in the 8865, but it has an issue registering and getting the profile from the TFTP server. I tried creating a manual profile with the phone's mac address on the TFTP server, but it didn't work.

Are my efforts futile? Are these sets too new, thus will not be supported by my phone system?

Thanks!

Yes, that system has been EOL/EOS for many years and won't support any of the newer phone models, if you want to use it, you'll have to stick to 7900 series running SCCP.
