In the data sheets and documents,it is stated that the maximum number of FXO that a router can support is 36 on a cisco3845 .
Actually a 3845 router can support 4 cards and 4 network modules, then theoratically we can put four vic2-4FXO and four NM-HV2 with two vic2-4fxo each .
in total we get 12 vic2-4fxo whcih is 48 FXOs.
can someone please explain to me if a 3845 can really support 48 FXOs ,and if not why ?
than you

Hi, at some point, it becomes very complicated and expensive to do such a config for maximum FXO.
If you have no other choice than use FXO to telco, why don't you use a channel bank that converts from fxo to E1 CAS.
For example, with two channel banks you can terminate 60 FXO, taking a simple VWIC or VWIC2 module in the router, even a 2801 would do that then.
