I have some users that share a line, besides their primary extension. One user was on the shared line and the other user wanted to make a new call from the shared line. When the 2nd user picks up the shared line she barges into the 1st users call. So how would she make a new call on the shared line without disurbing the existing call?

Hi Anthony.
Usually a second call from a shared line is allowed and user should not be able to join an active call on a shared line.
What kind of device are sharing line and whic protocol are they running?
Thanks

Carlo

Hi Anthony,
In addition to the good tips from my friend Carlo (+5 "C")
You will also want to check the "Max Calls" setting on each of the
shared line DN pages in CUCM admin. This may need to be set to
a higher number.
Cheers!

I know this is a strange request, but most of the time the want listen in on the shared line. So turning privacy on would eliminate that requirement. Picture it like adding a button with a second apperance of the shared line ( but i can't because I'm out of buttons ).

Sorry, actually its simple. Just hit the "new call" button and select the line you want to use. Duh, I feel stupid.
Thank you everyone for helping me work through this.
