Has anyone try to load Callmanager 6.1.2 on a MCS67825-i5  I have to do upgrade in staging area and customer does not have enough old servers to replicate production enviorment and I don't have a 7825-i5 in lab.

If so was there any issues with loading CUCM 6.1.2 on a 78250i5

It won't pass HW verification on the bare metal server, VMware is different animal. You can always install esxi on the server and try that approach, though I know many folks had issues with that version in VMware.

I5s are only supported with newer CUCM versions as listed in this doc:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6790/ps5748/ps378/prod_brochure0900aecd8062a4f9.html

It will not work with older versions due to the hardware not being supported (too new).

HTH,

Chris

Chris, yes I know i had verified the pre-req's that being said I don't want support I just want to do it as an interm step.

we all have run versions on hardware or in VMARE that isn't supported. That is what I was hoping someone had done just load the code on the newer servers due to the fact that there was no other option.

Thanks for the quick response

Thanks.. I have always had good luck running Callmanager in Vmware al the way back to 3.0.9. If it was for a lab no worries but I have to do an upgrade on new hardware as customer will not let me upgrade them to 6.1.4. At least from there I can go to 8.6.3.

They are at 6.1.2 so I have to rebuild the pub and go from there.

One of these upgrades you would like to do in lab first,

Anyway Thanls for quick response

Yeah, we use lab mule servers (or from our support spares) for these upgrades; we find an old ish MCS that will run 6.1.2 or whatever, DRS that onto the lab mule, upgrade to an 8.x version and then port that back to the customer's VM environment.

Not the quickest process, but more reliable that playing 6.x VMware roulette....
