MOH Problem

Robert Craig

I am running CUCM7. I got MOH working between extension and external caller, but between internal extensions all I get is the three beeps. I am confirmed Multicast is enabled on both my router and the CUCM7 MOH source. Is there something I missed? Any help is appreciated.

Since you are getting Tone on Hold, the issue has something to do with a config issue on CUCM. If CUCM was configured correctly but the network was not provisioned properly for mcast then you would hear silence.

I would check the following:

1. Ensure that your MRGL -> MRG -> MoH audio server configuration is correct

2. Ensure that your MRGL is assigned to the device

3. If using an audio source file, ensure that the audio source file is uploaded to all IPVMS nodes in the cluster.

This last point is a common issue. If you are using audio files for MoH and you have multiple IPVMS nodes in your cluster, then you need upload that MoH file to EACH IPVMS node. They don't share files. You also should add it to the pub so that you can do admin tasks with the audio source.

HTH.

Hi Robert,

To add to what Bill suggested, please also check the codec's selected under the IPVMSA parameters for MOH(select all except wide band), under service parameters, most likely that should fix the issue.
