My client wants to monitor status of sip trunks.
I know with CUCM version 8.5 we have capability to turn on Option Ping on CUCM. I just wanted to see if we can generate Alarms and send email as soon as CUCM is unable to reach a perticular Destination of SIP trunk.
as Per this doc.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/rel_notes/8_5_1/delta/delta.html#wp1893669
I have enabled the Ping Options under Sip Profiles of the trunks we want to monitor, however not sure where we can specify email address to send email?

Hello Aditya
Good Question - Read the same doc carefully ...
"The Cisco Unified Communications Manager captures and logs all SIP message
activities, which comprise the incoming and outgoing calls or sessions that
pass through the Cisco Unified Communications Manager. The Cisco Unified
Communications Manager stores the messages on a per-transaction basis in a
new Call Log file, which can be downloaded through Real Time Monitoring Tool
(RTMT) for post-processing activity."
It says downloadable - Therefore We can't send the ping options alarm over an email.
Here is where you can find these messages though :
SDL
SDI
Sys Log
Event Log
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the response Karthik,
Is there any way to monitor Trunks from Call manager and generate an alarm whenever destination device is unreachable? in newer versions of CUCM, or using third party software?

Yes Go to RTMT....
Performance >> Trunk Activity >> SIP Trunk: Call in Progress // Call
Completed// Call attempted
The above counters will give you information on the trunk activity .
Hope this helps!
