MTP - Instead of CUCM, Invoke from the ISR.

Hi Guys.

We have multiple sites connected to the Central CUCM. I noted that the calls still use the MTP from the CUCM instead of the Software or Hardware MTP of the ISR. We have configured both the software and the hardware MTPs. Also the MTPs from the ISR is registered on the CUCM. The MTPs are also in the MRGL as well and the MRGL is in the respective phone configuration.

The CUCM has a limitation of 48 MTPs which would be 24 for 24 simultaneous calls with MTP invoked in either direction. This would be a limitation on the scaling as well as bandwidth consuming.

Requesting for your advise on as to how we can achieve this.

Regards

Adrian.

You simply need to adjust your MRG and MRGL so that the ISR devices for each location have a higher preference than the CUCM MTP

Hi,

You should minimize the use of MTP to begin with. In you want to separate software MTP's from hardware and IOS from CUCM do below

Create a MRG1 and place all IOS MTP's

Create a MRG2 and place all CUCM MTP's

Create a MRGL and place MRG2 on top of MRG1, that will ensure that the IOS MTP's are invoked first.
