Hi,
MTP's which support codec passthru are able to handle video calls. The documentation you are looking for is in the following links which says "No video media termination point (MTP) nor video transcoder currently exists. If an audio transcoder or MTP is inserted into a call, that call will be audio only. This is true when the IPVC audio transcoding capabilities is not being used. When the IPVC transcoders are used, you can transcode the audio and send/receive video."

IOS HW MTP or Transcoders will support video calls with a pass through enabled on them?
What is the difference between transcoder and MTP from point of view of usage?

Yes, do read the Media resources section of design guide to get an understanding of MTP's and transcoders.

thanks...can we use software transcoders in place of MTPs ?

Hi,
It looks like you are not reading any of the links or the design guide as suggested earlier. You should put in some efforts to understand your own issue in a better way. There is nothing like a software transcoder. Transcoders are always DSP based.
