Hi all...i need help.
I got a brand new Cisco 8865 that i want to use in my home office though a SIP provider (voip.ms) that i've already signed up for.
Upon plugging in the phone it is requesting that i "activate" the phone with a username/pass along with a service domain. I dont have any of those...i just want to use the phone with SIP.
Does anyone know if i can use the phone without this activation? Im kind of a noob at this and have not really found any info for this phone via search.
thanks!

Those settings are to be used with MRA, you probably want to try forums like voip.org for this question.

Thanks, i admit i dont know too much about VOIP, and i dont really know what a MRA is either. But is it even feasible to use this phone without setting up some MRA server?

We do not test devices to be registered to other call agents, your provider should tell you if they tested the device with their service. It *might* be possible, but you'll need to manually modify the configuration files for the phone. This community is mainly focused on all Cisco environment. That's why I recommend voip.org or similar forums.
