Onramp Fax-to-mail Sip Trunking

Hi All,

I'm having the following setup for a customer: PSTN - SIP Provider - Cube - CUCM7.1.3

My customer wants to have incoming faxes converted to an e-mail message. I've done this several times before with the onramp TCL script without any problem but never with a SIP trunk (allways with PRI or BRI). With my sip trunking i cannot get it to work.

Anyone any ideas?

Hi

You wont be able to do this with SIP. To convert the fax to TIFF images, you need to have DSP. If you really need to do it, you can have back to back E1/T1 card on the CUBE and let the fax call pass through sip to PRI to PRI and onramp fax.

Thanks for your quick reply, I only have BRI cards in stock that i can use for this. Can I allso make this work with Sip -> BRI -> BRI -> onramp?

Hi

BRI back to back is not possible unless you have external simulator.

Either PRI-PRI or FXO-FXS can be used.
