Phone 8811 Telephony Service Unavailable message

Good Morning,

I've been trying to register a 8811 IP Phone to a 8.6.2 CUCM. I have installed the Device Pack 8.6.2.26169-1, IP phone Firmware 11-0-1-11.k3 and still getting the message "Telephony Service Unavailable"; I have tried with manual and auto-registry options and nothing.

I checked the security options at the phone and they are at default options.

Have anyone resolve an issue like this? Please help me to add this device to the CUCM.

Thanks.

If you installed the DevPack to add support for that model, did you perform a cluster reboot after that??

Hi there,

In addition to the good tips from my friend Java (+5) Maybe you are hitting this bug;

88XX phone can't register if more than 5 lines in phone button template
CSCus85518
Symptom:
8841 or other 88XX phone model that doesn't support a Key Expansion Module will show "Unprovisioned" or "Telephony Service Unavailable" and fail to register to Unified Communications Manager (UCM).

Conditions:
This issue only occurs if the Phone Button Template assigned to the device in UCM has more than 5 lines assigned to it. The 8841 and 8811 phones only support a maximum of 5 lines and will reject the xml configuration file from UCM if more than 5 lines are present.

Workaround:
Use a Phone Button Template in UCM that is based on one of the Standard 8841 or 8811 which will not allow more than 5 lines to be configured.

Further Problem Description:
Any 88XX phone running 10.2(2) or later will display "Unprovisioned" when no lines have been configured in UCM. This defect causes the phone to stop parsing the config file before it detects the configured line. Phone firmware older than 10.2(2) will show "Telephony Service Unavailable".

Look for these lines in the phone's console logs to verify this is the problem you are facing.

Hello, I have verified at the Phone Buttom Template and it only has 2 line options and 3 speed dial options.

I have verified the IP address and I can´t see the IP address the telephone gets on the CUCM.

Thanks a lot Jaime, after rebooting the device registered without any problem,

Glad to hear that, FYI, the README for the DevPack explains you should have done that right after the installation, you should ALWAYS read the relevant documentation when installing something on your server.
