POE 7965-G / 7945 IP Telephones Not Booting Up / No Display

I have been through endless treads and looked at multiple Network configurations and for the life of me I have not been able to fix 16 IP phones. So I hope this message reaches you in good spirits and you are able to help me out.

Issue - When I plug the phone into a known good POE connection - The phones go through a power boot - then no display comes up - Then they go dead and un-responsive.

I have tried using an external - Power source - CP-PWR-CUBE-3 / Model -PSC18U-480 - ONLY ONE (1) IP phone model 7945 came up with a display - But after several attempts after factory resets using the 123456789*0# and 3491672850*#

  - The phone just sits at a white Cisco display screen - saying Upgrading - And a visible number - 6C:50:40:DA:75:62

NOTES :The Cisco 6500 E - is the DHCP Server - There is an option 150 set using IP address for the Cisco TFTP Server &  they are in the same Pool.

CUCM - TFTP Service is running - Cisco MCS 7800 Series Media Convergence Server.

There are existing  136 IP phones (7965 G & 7945) in the environment and I am able to communicate with the devices to make changes and or configure via CUCM Version 7.x

There have been multiple moves involving  PC / Desktop & Phones in the environment so after the phones are unplugged from the POE Source and moved to another desk within the same environ - The existing  phones which was functional within the environment prior to it being moved, comes up without any issues after the obvious Power Down and Power Up process.

Regards,

Val

Hi Val,

This means the working phones when moved to non-working site are also functional.

If yes, then, there could be problem with phones. Were these phones working earlier or just stopped now?

regds,

aman

Hello Amanso, to answer the part of your response - When working phones are moved within the environment - After they have been unplugged form the POE Source and moved to another Desk per say within the same environ - After the device is plugged to its POE Source- They Power up and function properly without issues and I am able to make changes on the device using CUCM (this is in regards to the moved phones).

Unfortunately I inherited the phones Non- Functional was told they was working and suddenly stopped working, hence my investigative mode on how to fix the phones.

Thanks,

Val.

Hi Val,

this means inherited phones are a problem.

Why don't u try raising RMA for one phone provided u have a Contract?

regds,

aman

The client does not have warratee on the phones and Cisco already confrimed that they are Not End Of Equipment.

Regards,

Val....
