Hi All ,
Just a small query for personal knoweldge's sake, me and my respective colleague had a brief technical chat on intercluster stuff in UC enviroment and he brought about the concept of things being done through the port 8002 .
Kindly needed to know it in a little descriptive mode the exact function it carries out and the scenarios it is being used in.

Port 8002 is used for the Cisco CallManager service for intercluster communication (
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/port/8_0_2/portlist802.html). This means when you have more than one node in the cluster, wheneve a signal has to go between servers whether it's a keepalive or actual message port 8002 is used. An example of when it would be used would be say you have two nodes in your cluster. Phone A is registered to node 1 and phone B is registered to node 2. When phone A calls phone B, phone A signals to node 1 which does a lookup and finds that the DN that was called is registered to node 2. A setup message is sent across from node 1 to node 2 using port 8002 indicating phone B needs to start ringing since it's receiving a call. Node 2 takes care of signaling to the phone what needs to be done for the call setup.
