Possible to Migrate a Batch of Phones without BAT Deleting the Old Phones?

Hello,

I'm currently working on migrating about 120 users who have Cisco 7940 IP phones over to Cisco 8851 IP phones. I successfully used the Bulk Administration Tool (BAT) Phone Migration tool to do a batch of 20 of them.  It worked like a charm and all of the new 8851s were in CUCM with the users' extensions configured on them, just like I wanted them.  The only problem I had was that the BAT deleted all of the old 7940s, which makes sense, but I am currently just staging the 8851s and getting ready to distribute them.  But it ended up leaving me with 20 users whose phones went down.   I would like to use the Phone Migration BAT function and have the new phones configure in CUCM, but not delete the 7940s, so I can go through and manually delete them after I have distributed the 8851s.  That way I can use the tool to get the phones in call manager without taking down the old phones, then get the new phones out to the users.

Thanks!

Why don't you just insert the new 8851s through BAT instead of migrate?

In this case, you need to use insert instead of migration. Export the phones in csv, do any changes you need in the CSV and import them for 8851. You need to import the common settings.
