PRI Failover on Cisco UBE

We have an Active CUBE with 3 PRI links connected and a Standby CUBE with HSRP running.

The question I have is if the Active CUBE fails, is there any way to have a setup that doesn't force a user to manually swap the PRI links over to the standby CUBE to get the PRI up and running again?

Long story short. what is the best way to make the PRI highly available as well without user intervention.

Hi Josh,

There is no way you can have a PRI HA. You can have some sort of resiliency or automatic failover option if you distribute your PRI's on both the gateways instead of having all on one and that too for outbound calls only. Inbound will still not work until all ISDNs are moved over as the DID's are tied to the ISDN lines.

Just to  get more clarity, what is your call flow, you have mentioned CUBE and PRI both, are you using PRIs for outbound backup only?

Hi Terry,

We are currently using the PRI for both inbound and outbound. We have SIP trunks which we are migrating towards but only doing so 20 users at a time.

I figured there wasn't a way but hoped someone had a cool solution out there.

Thanks though.
