PVDM2-32 with 3 E1

Hi,

Sorry for this basic question.

I have a router 2811 that i need to install 3 - E1 cards (VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1).

Now i need to know if i have only 1-PVDM2-32 intalled in the router , will i be able to use all 3 E1 at same time or will it give any error while allocating channels.

Actually this a lab enviornment only and not more than 1-2 calls will traverse each E1.

Hi

You can't allocate all 30 channels on all the E1s with just a PVDM 32.

You could set up only a few channels on each (e.g. pri-group timeslots 1-6 instead of pri-group timeslots 1-30) and that would use up only the corresponding set of DSPs (e.g. 6 out of your 32 total).

If you are using this with CUCM you would need to disable ccm-manager config or the router will download a config from CUCM with pri-group timeslots 1-30 in it, and will fail on the second E1.
