Query with O365 integration

Hi All,

I am bit confused with O365 integration. I could see that CUCM can be directly integrated with O365 Exchange online using CUBE. So in this case, Unity connection is not needed ? and will this provide unified messaging ?

https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/solutions/collateral/enterprise-networks/unified-access/cube-asr-release-10-0.pdf

In the unity connection unified messaging guide, could see procedure for integrating UC with O365.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/10x/unified_messaging/guide/10xcucumgx/10xcucumg025.html

What is the key difference between these 2 integrations.

Thanks

Rajan

Yes, you can utilize MSFT Office365 as voicemail system instead of Cisco Unity Connection, however MSFT is ending support for that this year, see:

https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/exchange/2018/02/28/update-discontinuation-of-support-for-session-border-controllers/

So, probably not a viable long term option for you. Cisco Unity integration to Office365 is here to stay and this basically means that your CUC is your voicemail platform storing messages, etc. but it also syncs with Office365 to deliver the messages via email, which is typically desired these days.

Thanks Chris for clarifying.
