Question on Cisco SPA122 ATA with Router

Hey all,

For many years we had landline phone service through our local phone company, but recently changed providers and now are using a Cisco SPA122 ATA with Router. With our old service we were not able to have more than incoming and/or outgoing call, but this is not the case with our new service and set-up. This is to say that one person can answer a call on one phone, while someone else answers a different call on a second phone. This causes problems, as my stepdad using a VA issued phone, due to hearing loss causing during his Army service in Germany back in the 60s and my mom uses another phone, as his phone is too loud for her. Just today someone called for my stepdad and my mom answered on her phone, but had to tell them to call back, as my stepdad could not talk to the caller on his phone. We have a service call out to our provider, but they are running a little behind and I was hoping there was a quick fix on my end. Really just need to have our ATA configured such that we can only have one incoming and/or outgoing call at time. Any help or suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

Just letting everyone know that our service provider sent someone out today and he had to do was plug in a splitter to one of the two phone jacks on the back of the router and then plug both phones into said splitter. I wish I had known that would fix the problem, as I could have done that a long time ago. I just thought that they might to need to reprogram or configure the ATA differently.
