The UC520-48U-T / E / F-K9 V01 is the heart of our phone system. Last Date of Support: September 30, 2016
The current phone system has reached the limit of licences for handsets and is no longer supported by Cisco however the functionality is fit for purpose.
We therefore would like to implement a replacement for the UC500 and utilise the existing handsets with the ability to expand up to 75 or 100 phone end points.
The following additional features would be helpful in a new system
- Reporting – ability to run a report to show number of missed calls etc
- Shared lines – ability for two phones to share 1 extension ie: Reception phone
- Auto Attendant to guide a caller to the correct extension without the need for a receptionist
The existing handsets are robust and our objective is to utilise these with a new core phone system.
What would you recommend as a replacement for the UC520?

Hello Aeby,
UC520 packs a lot of functionality in a single package.
Currently you have 2 options, Buying a BE6k under the UCS-C platform, which should have plenty of power to handle all the phones and more, however you will miss FXO and FXS sports and some other features.
Or Buying an ISR 4k with a UCS-E Module
This is a much more versatile solution as far as functionality goes, however this might be more expensive as an initial investment.
I would highly recommend talking to your Cisco Account Manager or a Cisco Sales Rep. to check all your needs and provide the best solution for you.
Best Regards, Jaime.

Hi,
The recommendation regarding the replacement was to go for a BE 6000 series server.
Below is an old thread regarding the discussion:

Probably you'll find a BE6000s as a worthy replacement.

It gives you all the features you had mentioned in your query.

Aeby

Thanks for the speedy reply. When I checkout the links the supported IP Phones are: 8800, 7800, 6900, 3900 Series
But the phone models I have are: 7945G and 7942G
Will they work on the 6000S?
Also, which SKU would I request a quote on - there are many models! For instance:
BE6S-PRI-M2-K9
BE6S-PRI-M2-XU
Thankyou for your very helpful advice.
John

The 6KS is past the EOS date, that's not a good option if you're looking for a long term replacement:
Engage with a local Cisco partner with UC specialization so they can provide you with a quote that fits your needs, they might also consider a BE4000 for your scenario.
