In CUCM 9.1 setup we have 7961 - 80 NOS, customer replacing all the 7961 with 8841 IP Phone.
Once we remove the 7961 IP Phone from the network the license count will get added or do we need to delete the 7961 IP Phone from the callmanager, to add the new 8841 IP Phone. Please advice.

Hi,
If u assign same owner id , it would consume one CUWL Std. in your case since u do not have UCL Enhanced Plus license or u need to buy UCL Enhanced Plus standard later on.
the same can be checked as below:
system---Licensing--License Usage report. You will find Users and Unassigned Devices. Click on View usage report.
It would show User ID, License Type, Device Count and View Details. Click on view details that would show license consumed, IP phone model and User Id assigned.

Hi Bala,
You need to delete the phones in CUCM and then update license usage in CUCM. Once done, you need to synchronize the licenses in ELM to update the license usage.

Thanks Shenbagarajan,
For EX 7961 IP Phone have directory number - 1111 and I am adding 8841 and assing same number 1111, it will consider as one license or two license ?

It will be calculated as 2 licenses as you have 2 devices as such in CUCM. When you delete the 7961 phone, then the count will get changed to 1 after you do the synch in both CUCM and ELM.

CUWL Standard Licensing, hom many device it will support, as per document it will support many device for one user profiles.
If we have CUWL license, one user profile with two IP Phone [ 7961 and 8841 ], it will consider as one or two device in CUCM 9.1 license manager.

Hi,
8841 consumes Enhanced UCL license.
CUWL Std. supports 3-10 devices per user/owner user-id.
If you associate 8841 with one user, it would consume UCL enhanced . If more than one , it would consume CUWL standard [these licenses would be borrowed by /loaned to this user ]since u do not have UCL Enhanced Plus licenses as in attached snapshot.

Hi Aman Soi,
So 8841 and 7961 to gether will take only one CUWL Standard license in my case [ one user ID].
Please correct me if my understanding is wrong.
But In license manager it is using two license, how I can confirm it is using one license.

the one way is you can take snapshot from Call Manager of Licese Usage report after u click on Update Usage Details which shows Last Updated Time.
At same time, u can login in ELM . Go to Licenses--License Usage. Click on Synchronise and take snapshot of Table View/Chart View.
secondly,in ELM , go to Licenses--License Usage ---History.Select the Date and Product type . Click on Generate File .You can download the csv file and open it , run the Filter.
Hope this help.
