Server requirement to build CUCM7.x for a home lab?

What's the minum server requirement to build CUCM7.x for a home lab?

I have a DEll Power Edge T100 with the following:

2.00 GHZ Dual Core Processor (can upgrade to 4)

System memory size 8.0 GB

System memory speed 667 MHZ

Bus Speed: 800 MHZ

L2 Cache 1 MB

Is it my understanding that i should install VMware ESXi first then create separate VM for the CUCM7.x suite + Windows server 3 or higher for LDAP and Linux VM like ubuntu server for tftp server etc...

Is this the way to go? Does it matter is the server is 32 bits or 64 bits?

Thanks,

I would upgrade your memory to the max, unless you are at the max.  But what you have will work.  ESXi is a personal choice.  I have a Dell Server running Win2k3 on x64 and run VMWare Server 2x.  From there I have CUCM 7x, CUC 7x, Unity 5 and Unity 7x.  I also use Windows 2k3 for AD and have Exchange 2k3 and Exchange 2k7 for Unity integrations for UM testing.  You do not need Ubuntu for TFTP.  I would recommend using CopSSH and loading as an SFTP server on either the base server install or a Windows VM.
