I'm trying to setup some shared lines and hunt groups but I'm not sure it's achievable. We have 7962 phones
My requirements are:
Externally: one number to call one hunt group internally via broadcast 3000,3001,3002,3003 (these numbers have external DDI's eg 01205 793000 etc)
Each desk should be able to barge the other desk phones calls as we sometimes need two people listening to a call eg if it's not very clear due to the enviroment/situation at the remote end.
The worst case scenario would be 3000 has barged 3001 and another call comes in, we would require one of the other 2 free phones to take the call and the remaining free phone to possibly barge that call.
Is this possible?

Of course, thats the kind of question I often get from my clients, il your case I would prefer a simple shared line, because you want to broadcast the calls anyway and with a hunt group, once you answer the call, you ar the only one who have access to that call (it is on your personal line). In my group we use a shared line, because we can conference at will. You can use the external number as shared line, or put the external number in a translation pattern to a shared DN.

Hi,
thanks for reply. I'm still not clear on how to do this:
lets say external number 123456789 is routed to a hunt group which has:
3000 (shared with 3001,3002,3003)
3001 (shared with 3000,3002,3003)
3002 (shared with 3000,3001,3003)
3003 (shared with 3000,3001,3002)
A call then comes in on 123456789 which will go to the hunt group under broadcast and all phones ring. (Line/Busy indicators would probably be going mad on all phones)
3000 picks up the call and 3001 barges the call. So that is 2 internal phones tied up. The available phones (3002 & 3003) will see this on their shared line button indicator.
Another call comes in on 123456789 (ISDN 30).
Would I be right in assuming that only 3002 & 3003 will ring?

Hi Louis.
Because all 4 shared lines are present on all 4 phones, when phone 1 answers a call for dn 3000, all other line will remain available. So if a second call arrives to the pilot point, 3001 will start to ring on ALL phones even on the phone with an active call on 3000

What I was thinking is more like:
123456789 is translated (translation pattern, not hunt group) to 4000 (a random shared line)
Phone A has lines:
3000 (personnal not shared)
4000 (shared line that will ring, must increase Busy Trigger and Maximum Number of Calls)
Phone B has lines:
3001 (personnal not shared)
4000 (shared line that will ring, must increase Busy Trigger and Maximum Number of Calls)
Phone C has lines:
3002 (personnal not shared)
4000 (shared line that will ring, must increase Busy Trigger and Maximum Number of Calls)
Phone D has lines:
3003 (personnal not shared)
4000 (shared line that will ring, must increase Busy Trigger and Maximum Number of Calls)
In that setup, you must increase Busy Trigger and Maximum Number of Calls on the line 4000 on each phones! Every phones with DN 4000 will ring when 123456789 is called, If one of the phone takes a line, you will see the line on all phones, but if another call comes, you will si a second line on 4000 on every phones ant it will ring on every phones with 4000 except the one who is already on a call, this one will only hear one Beep and see is line flash.
You could perfectly use a hunt group, but you will not be able to inserti in somone else's call, unless all your lines are shared, and thats much less convenient than a single shared line.

Hi,
this looks to be working great for us at the moment. Thank you.
As it's a shared line, how do you go about barging the line?
For example, if there are two seperate calls happening on the shared line 4000 and the third operator (who isn't on a call) wants to barge into say the first line only, is this possible?

Although Barge and Privacy usually go hand in hand, however In simple tasks to enable Barge on phones please observe the following steps :
To activate barge with a built-in conference bridge, add the barge softkey to a softkey template, assign the softkey template to a device, set the Built-in Bridge Enable service parameter to On, and set the party entrance tone to True. To activate the single button barge feature, you must also enable it in the Device Profile Configuration window. See the Configure Barge for details.
