Hi all,
I'm implementing CUCM 8.6 and I have some doubts with the SIP strunk.
As per my understanding,
If I make a call from my ip phone through a sip trunk, the source ip that is used to communicate with the other end of the sip trunk is the ip address of the call manager which the the phone register to. However, what I saw from RTMT session trace is not like that. Some of them uses other call manager's ip addresses (there are couple of call manager processing node).
or it depends on the device pool of the sip trunk itself ? or any others?
Please help.
Note* - MTP is not used.
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
for the source IP address it depends on which server the phone is registered.

Hey Somjade,
What type of a SIP trunk is this e.g. Credential based authentication or IP address based authentication?
Based on my understanding
if its credential based then you will need to configure CUBE therefore the source IP in CUCM would be the routers IP.
If it is a IP address based authentication then your firewall or which ever device that does the NAT should translate the IP of your CUCM to the Public IP that the SIP provider is expecting.
I hope I understood your question. Hope this helps
Thanks,
Shibly
