slightly confusing Unity Connection test result

Hi all,

Trying to get unity 10 set up and running but getting this message when I test the unified messaging service

Searching the network Failed to locate a Domain Controller via DNS.
Searching the network Failed connected to Exchange CAS server at (https://domainname/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml)
Searching the network Successfully connected to Exchange CAS server at (https://autodiscover.domainname/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml)

Are the results sequential? What I mean is does the system do a sequence of tests and reports back in order? Seems odd that it would fail to connect then succeed. I cant send any test mail from the CLI so guess its not actually working but it would be helpful to know what the above results are actually saying.

No one else setting this monstrosity up at the moment??? Seems straight forward. Isn't. If anyone else is struggling with the SMTP set up, Give me a shout and we can see if any of my experience can help.

Oddly I can get the smtp test to send internal mail but not external. Also wont acknowledge any replies from internal testing. Guessing its something external to the CUC that's causing that.
