Strange FXO Problem

Hi group, trust you are all well.

I have this strange problem with my FXO card in my 2801, at first I thought it was down to my UCM but I reverted my Router config back to ccme but the problems continue, I will try and explain the best I can.

OK I call my PSTN number from my mobile and all sounds right from mobile, I can hear two rings then a pause, two rings again and then a pause; just like a standard call, however the IP phone rings one and a half times then hangs up showing a missed call, then it rings again and hangs up showing another missed call and this continues until I end the call on my mobile, once I have ended the call from my mobile then the IP phone continues to ring until I pick the call up even though I have cleared the call down on my mobile.

Below is my part config along with a debug, I hope you can help me out here as its driving me nuts.

There is nothign strange in that, these are typical FXO problems caused by the lack of supervisory disconnect.

The missed calls can be cause by the ringing pattern too spaced apart for the router to detect as a single call.

Note in my experience unless you config the exact tones, it would not work.

And of course, if you want business-level call handling and features, use ISDN, not analog.

Confused, I have it enabled, could you explain a little more please.

Martyn

As indicated above, you need to configure the exact tones for your telco.

I have tried all that is shown on the link you sent me, tried all the

options but I still can not get a disconnect, the only thing I could not try

was the voice classes becasue my Router does not support it

Router(config-voiceport)#supervisory disconnect dualtone pre-connect?

I will keep trying to resolve but if you can come up with any other suggestions that would be great

Cheers

Dualtone is the right option, plus you have to enter the exact tone frequencies for your telco.

You can search for the many, many similar threads on the subject.

As if the problem wasn't serius enough, some IOS version are buggy and do not even work in this area.

That is why for an expensive phone system like Cisco CE or CME, a digital line is a necessity more than an option.

Appreciate what you are saying but I can not understand why it works when I set up my 2801 a ccme, I have no problems there its just when its get handed over to the call manager I get the problems.

Thanks

Martyn
